Diana Ashdown

I studied fine art painting in the mid 1970`s at Amersham College of Art, mainly painting and life drawing, with some lithography printing which was taught by Henry Trivick R.A. After gaining a distinction and whilst working as an art technician I began exhibiting my work, I became interested in other forms of printing and began experimenting with screen printing, etching, collographs and lino cuts.

I exhibit my work in galleries, the AAF spring exhibition London, Battersea and Open Studios. I have taken commissions for textile design, wall murals and graphic products, my work is in private collections in Holland, France, Australia and England. I have taught basic screen printing and other crafts and I am a member of the Oxford Print Co-Operative and Oxford Art Society.

My prints are original works of art, designed, cut and printed by me on an H. Rochat floor press. Over the years I have been pushing the limits of lino cutting to find a way to suit my style and have devised an unusual intaglio process. I am experimenting with caustic soda, photo etch and different resists to create mood and atmosphere in my prints.
